We booked through last-minute.com which was good and reasonable

We flew with Lufthansa which was excellent

Our hotel, Eurostar Book was comfortable, warm and well situated. We were able to walk to all the markets. There was a good choice of food at a reasonable prices in the hotel lobby bar

It was well worth having breakfast in the hotel

The Marienplatz market is the best

Food, drink and goods were reasonably priced at the markets

Hand cream and lip balm were a must in the cold/wet climate

Not really any seating at the markets

Cash is needed at times at the markets

The Hofbräuhaus is an amazing place to visit.  The drinks and food there are a fair price

Some Kaffee und Kuchen venues are upstairs and have lovely views

We got the airport bus to and from Central Station.  Very comfortable, frequent and €13 each for each way.

Day 5: Thursday 27 September

A leisurely breakfast was followed by packing and attempting to get the numerous Glühwein mugs that we'd purchased into our bags!

Finally there was no rain so it was a fairly pleasant walk to the main railway station to catch the Lufthansa Express to the airport. At €13 each for the 45 minute journey, it was good value.

Munich Airport is really lovely and it was fairly quiet. We successfully checked in our bags including Chris and Sarah's who were given the option to check-in their wheely bags for free.

Security was a breeze. We didn't need to remove anything from our bags. Sarah had to take off her Dr Martens again but that was fine.

Unfortunately our flight was delayed by 40 mins but, again, it was a comfortable.

Immigration was soon cleared, bags collected, car found and we were homeward bound with a quick stop at Macdonald's en route as we hadn't really eaten since breakfast.
