We awoke feeling refreshed after an excellent night's sleep and headed for breakfast which was an extensive buffet which we all enjoyed.
It was a drizzly morning but there's no such thing as bad weather, just
the wrong clothes so, suitably attired we set off for the Christmas
markets. First stop was the medieval market which was only just opening
up for the season. We all wanted a flaming Glühwein in a goblet and it was definitely most welcome
on such a drizzly morning. It was delicious but, disappointingly we
couldn't buy a goblet to take home. We will keep looking!
Next stop was Marienplatz market which was really big. We had a wonderful time
browsing the numerous stalls selling Christmas decorations, candles, wood
carving, knitted goods as well as food and drink.
It was near lunchtime and and we found a lovely place for Kaffee und
Kuchen. Much to E's delight they had Käsesahne which we enjoyed with hot
chocolate whilst Sarah had hot lemonade with ginger, orange juice and
mint.
We then returned to the market and Chris had Bratwurst and Sarah had a Pretzel
Next stop was the Hofbräuhaus where we listened to the Oompah band whilst
supping a beer.
When we left the Hofbräuhaus the rain was coming down very steadily so we
decided to call it a day and return to the hotel to dry out and have some
dinner.
